Friends mourn and honor woman who was killed in Cleveland shooting outside bar
It was a balloon release that was planned the day of -- on short notice -- yet look at the number of people who showed up in support of Miranda Stamper at Mosby Park in Cleveland.
I counted at least a hundred.
"She always loved having a good time -- it was always a good time with Miranda," a friend said.
It was a night to mourn the loss of Stamper, who was shot and killed outside a Cleveland bar late Friday night.
But it was also a time to honor someone who many of her close friends and family say always brought people together.
"She'd come to pick you up from work," a friend said. "She was there for anything."
Marissa Hamilton says she and Stamper were best friends since second grade.
Hamilton was one of many people in tears, comforting each other.
But that didn’t stop them from saying a few words about just how much Stamper meant to them, and the community as a whole.
"She was supposed to be at my wedding one day -- but you know what, there's going to be an empty spot right next to me for her."
And then, when the time was right, they released the balloons and continued to share memories.
