Former Chattanooga Police Officer indicted on child pornography charges
A former Chattanooga Police Officer now faces a federal indictment on one count of possession child pornography.
The federal indictment, filed on Wednesday, says Bryan Moody "knowingly accessed and attempted to access with intent to view material that contained an image of child pornography."
Moody resigned from the Chattanooga Police Department last May. That came a week after he was placed on administrative leave.
Moody had been with the CPD since 2008.
Chattanooga Police Chief David Roddy issued the following statement on the indictment:
"I am disgusted and disappointed by the unethical, criminal behavior of this former officer. When an officer is indicted on charges such as this it damages the honorable and commendable things your police officers do to assist community members every day."
