Flaming car comes to a stop along Rhea County Highway in Dayton Monday night

Dayton firefighters say a flaming car held up traffic as it rolled down Rhea County Highway Monday night.

The City of Dayton Fire-Rescue says it happened just north of the Walmart intersection.

Fire department officials say the red car was on fire when it hit the curb and came to rest about 40 feet down the road.

Firefighters were able to quickly extinguish the fire.

The vehicle is a total loss. Assistant Fire Chief Adam says no injuries were reported.
