Investigators charge woman with arson after home damaged by fire Friday

UPDATE: The Chattanooga Fire Department says a fire investigator charged one of the residents of the house with arson.

CFD says Theresa Umbreit confessed to setting the fire following a dispute with her husband.


Chattanooga firefighters say a home was heavily damaged after a fire broke out Friday afternoon.

It happened on the 4300 block of 10 Avenue.

In a Twitter post, the Chattanooga Fire Department said most of the fire is out, but they are working on hot spots.

CFD says no injuries have been reported in the blaze, but damage is extensive.

Investigators are still looking into what caused it.
