Firefighters rescued a resident trapped on the second story of a burning home Thursday morning, according to the Chattanooga Fire Department (CFD). No one was hurt.

The fire broke out a little after 5 a.m. on the 3400 block of Hughes Avenue.

CFD says two other people jumped from the second floor to escape the flames.

Firefighters confirmed no one else was inside, and found flames coming from the kitchen.

Investigators say food left on the stove caused the fire.
