An early Sunday morning fire didn't last very long thanks to the Chattanooga Fire Department.

Firefighters responded to a call at a Hixson business early Sunday morning. The call came in for the firefighters at 3:33 a.m. A passing motorist called 911 reporting smoke and flames at the Sherwin-Williams paint store at 5112 Hixson Pike.

The fire department says due to the early notification and proximity to Station 19, located nearby, the firefighters were able to get the fire out quickly, saving most of the paint store and all of the adjacent businesses. Firefighters characterized the damage as relatively light damage.

No injuries were reported.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
