Fire destroys vacant house in Chattanooga Wednesday morning
The Chattanooga Fire Department spent time in Lookout Valley Wednesday morning putting out a large fire at a vacant house.
Spokesman Bruce Garner says firefighters got the alarm at 4:37 a.m. and responded to 3602 Kelly's Ferry Road with five fire companies.
A Google Maps image shows how the house looked before it burned:
Battalion Chief Chris Willmore said it took the firefighters less than 20 minutes to get the fire under control.
No one was hurt.
Chief Willmore said the house was considered a total loss, with damages estimated at $67,000.
Garner says the house has been vacant for several years.
Still no word on the fire's cause.
