Fire Destroys Home In Chattanooga

Fire destroys a home in Chattanooga Friday night.

Officials say it happened around 9:30 p.m. on Graham Street.

The homeowner told firefighters she was in another part of the home when she noticed flames coming through the window.

She was able to get out and call 911.

Captain Henry McElvain with the Chattanooga Fire Department said the fire appears to have started on the back porch. There's no word on what started it.

The fire caused more than one hundred thousand dollars in damages.
