Chattanooga firefighters at Station 5 on S. Willow Street were just finishing dinner around 7 p.m. when people in three different cars stopped to report a fire down the street.

Chattanooga Firefighters said they could see smoke coming from a house just down the street.

After notifying the other firefighters at the station and 911 Communications, the firefighters responded to the fire at S. Willow Street.

Firefighters say they were able to get the fire out in under 15 minutes.

Firefighters were told that no one was living in the house.

One firefighter was transported by Hamilton County EMS to hospital for heat exhaustion.

He was expected to be treated and released.

The fire was mostly contained to the first floor, with moderate to heavy smoke and heat damage to the upstairs portion of the house.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
