Man hit, killed while walking on I-75, charges pending against driver
A man is hit and killed while walking down I-75 Saturday morning.
The Georgia State Patrol says Michael Nease of Kennessaw was walking down I-75 near the Whitfield County/Catoosa County line when he was hit.
GSP says the driver, Jordan Shelton veered off the road and hit Nease.
Nease died on the scene.
GSP says it isn't clear why Nease was walking down the interstate or what caused Shelton's car to run off the road.
The GSP now says Shelton is being charged with vehicular homicide.
ORIGINAL STORY: Catoosa County Dispatch confirms to NewsChannel 9 that they are working a fatal crash on I-75 Southbound. The crash was near the Whitfield/Catoosa County line.
Traffic was backed-up on I-75S for several hours while crews were cleaning up the interstate.
Right now details regarding the crash are limited. The Georgia State Patrol is investigating the crash.
