Chattanooga firefighters responded to a vacant house fire at 3123 Lightfoot Mill Road around 3:00 Wednesday morning.

Battalion Chief Don Bowman said the house was fully engulfed in flames when the first firefighters arrived on the scene.

The flames were beginning to spread to some nearby trees and could be seen from miles away.

Chief Bowman said firefighters with six fire companies quickly brought the fire under control.

No one was hurt. No word yet on how much damage the fire did, or what caused it.
