DownSide Up creates video for parents who find out their children have Down syndrome
"She is Lila, she is not a diagnosis." A new local non-profit created a video for parents who find out their children have Down syndrome. Downside Up Inc. featured our own Latricia Thomas, her husband Charlie and daughter Lila, to talk about the moment they found out their life would change forever, and the amazing journey it's become. The video is intended to encourage new parents who receive a diagnosis, when they can sometimes feel scared, alone, and sad.
Downside Up Inc. is also planning a camp for those with Down syndrome and their families. A Dash for DS is also planned for March 19th at the Tennessee Riverwalk. For more information on the race, visit chattanoogadownsyndrome.org.
