Dalton Police want help identifying suspect who stole from Chick-fil-A cashier
The Dalton Police Department (DPD) is looking for a suspect they say fast talked a Chick-fil-A cashier out of over $90 and also some free food last week. Do you recognize him?
DPD says it happened at the Walnut Square Mall Chick-fil-A on October 4th.
Officers say a black man with braids in his hair and wearing a white t-shirt ordered food and tried to pay for it with a $100 bill.
While the cashier was counting out change, officers say the suspect began to distract her with questions and kept her talking.
As the cashier was about to hand over the change, the suspect asked for his $100 back, saying he had exact change instead.
Police say the man kept the cashier talking, reached across the counter and took his receipt, and told her she hadn't given him his change yet.
Officers say the woman was confused, and handed over the $92.29 in change she'd already counted out.
The suspect then exited the restaurant with the extra cash and his meal.
If you recognize the man in the picture above, please call Detective Brian Shirley at 706-278-9085, ext. 9189.
