Dade County Sheriff's Department warns about counterfeit money in North Georgia
The Dade County Sheriff's Department posted on Facebook Saturday about counterfeit money circulating the North Georgia area.
The department says not to accept it as legitimate currency if you are a merchant or consumer.
"While this stuff is not illegal to possess, it IS ILLEGAL to try to pass it as actual US currency," Dade County Sheriff's Department.
Officials say there are Asian markings on the side which should be noted as a concern, as well as the fact that it's not made of the same material as US currency.
