Crews worked all day Thursday and late into the night to battle a forest fire on Shut In Gap Road in Spring City.

The Rhea County 911 Facebook page says in a post just before 11 p.m. that there have been no evacuations.

The post also says "we just spoke with Tennessee Forestry and verified everything is okay with fires on the mountain. They do have a controlled fire line burning with about 10 big stumps."

Rhea County Rescue Squad 500 posted several photos of the fire to its Facebook page.

That post thanks "many volunteeers that spend many hours on this fire."

A Rhea County dispatcher told us on Friday morning that Tennessee Forestry has the fire "under control."

There's no word on what started the fire. The Tennessee Forestry Division says the fire is 100 percent contained at 60 acres, and says crews will do "mop-up" activities on Friday morning.

This is a developing story. Depend on us for updates as we get them.
