Crews closed both lanes of Highway 111 Tuesday morning after an accident between a logging truck and a pickup truck that happened shortly after 6 a.m.

This happened in the 11500 block of the highway near Soddy-Daisy, just south of Jones Gap Road.

The driver of the pickup truck was taken to a local hospital, and the driver of the logging truck was treated for injuries at the scene.

The accident left a lot of debris in the roadway, and we're told that it will be a few hours before it can all get cleaned up, which affects southbound lanes of traffic.

We have a crew on the scene getting more information right now.

This is a developing story and will be updated.
