Firefighters were called to the scene after a condemned home caught fire in Red Bank Thursday afternoon.

Hamilton County EMA spokesperson Amy Maxwell says at 3:10 p.m., someone called 911, reporting heavy smoke and fire at a home on McCahill Road.

Once on scene, the Red Bank Fire Department called in additional support from Chattanooga firefighters, while Dallas Bay Volunteer Fire Department and Signal Mountain Fire Department stood by to help handle other calls.

Maxwell says Red Bank fire officials reported the fire was an accident, started by a fire outside the home.

She also says the home was already in the process of being demolished.

No injuries were reported, but Hamilton County EMS was on scene just in case.
