CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. — UPDATE: Chattanooga Police are holding a Monday news conference with an update on the search for the suspect.
UPDATE: Chattanooga Police Chief Fred Fletcher held a news conference at 2:30 p.m. with an update on the case.
NEW UPDATE: Just after 1 p.m. Chattanooga Police officers surrounded a home off of Wheeler Avenue.
Chattanooga Police say the reward for help in the suspect's capture is now at $6,000:

Chattanooga Police say one of their officers was shot three times Thursday morning, and a search for the suspect investigators believe was responsible continues.
Fletcher says the officer is recovering and is doing "as best as can be expected after being shot 3 times."
The suspect is a black male with medium complexion, wearing dark pants & a dark sweatshirt, about 5' 10" and medium build.
6 area schools are on lockdown as the search for the suspect continues. They are Hardy Elementary, CSAS, Orchard Knob Elementary, Orchard Knob Middle, Notre Dame, & McCallie.
Police are now offering a $1000 reward for information that leads to the suspect's arrest.
This happened a little after 9 a.m. at 1005 Mission Avenue, near Glenwood Drive.
