CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. — The Chattanooga Police Department says an officer has been placed on leave after he was arrested Christmas Day.
The Hamilton County Sheriff's Office arrested 34-year-old Officer James R. Oister and charged him with domestic assault.
A CPD spokesman says Oister has been placed on paid administrative leave pending the outcome of the investigation.
On Wednesday, NewsChannel 9 obtained the affidavit in the case, which says the woman claims Oister assaulted her after an argument over Christmas wrapping. The altercation took place in front of the couple's three children. Read the details below:
