Chattanooga PD: Woman shot on Shallowford Road after verbal fight at gas station

Chattanooga Police say a woman was hospitalized after an apparent shooting on Shallowford Road Thursday afternoon. Chattanooga Police arrested a suspect a few hours later.

It happened on the 5900 block of Shallowford Road Thursday afternoon.

A police officer on the scene told us the woman was shot in the parking lot of the Eagles Food & Fuel gas station. CPD spokesperson Elisa Myzal says an ambulance rushed the woman to the hospital.

Investigators later learned that the victim, who is 30 years old, and the suspect, 27-year-old Tanisha Jennings Suttles, got in a verbal fight before the shooting.

Suttles is now in custody in the Hamilton County Jail, charged with attempted first degree murder, reckless endangerment, and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony.
