UPDATE (Thursday):

Chattanooga Police now say this incident was a deadly one. They say a homeowner shot at three robbery suspects. One of them died, and the two other suspects are now in custody.

Police say when they arrived on the scene, they found 24-year-old Perry Thomas (above, left) on the floor suffering from a gunshot wound. He was rushed to the hospital, and later died from his injuries.

An affidavit obtained by NewsChannel 9 says the homeowner was doing his laundry when 30-year-old Travis Garth (above, center) came inside (Police confirmed that Garth is related to the homeowner). The affidavit says they spoke for about 15 minutes in the living room, when Garth opened the front door to let Thomas and 22-year-old Darious Woods inside. The affidavit says one suspect was armed with a knife and one suspect was carrying a bag. The affidavit says Travis Garth retrieved a gun from the bag and demanded the victim give him money.

The affidavit says the homeowner retrieved a pistol from under a couch and fired several times at the suspects, hitting two of them. Thomas fell to the floor, and later died at the hospital.

Police say Woods later showed up at a hospital with a gunshot wound. He's now in custody.

Travis Garth is now in custody, and charged with aggravated robbery.
