Chattanooga PD identify body found in Brainerd area Tuesday night

UPDATE (Thursday, October 3):

Chattanooga Police have identified the body found on North Tuxedo Avenue Tuesday night as that of Clayton Mason, a young activist and former educator in the Chattanooga area.

Mason's friends and community are remembering him for his heart of service tonight. See Sam Luther's report here.

Chattanooga Police say a homicide investigation is underway after a man's body was found late Tuesday night.

Police spokesperson Elisa Myzal says the man was found around 11:09 p.m. in the 100 block of North Tuxedo Avenue, off of Brainerd Road.

Myzal says the man's injuries were consistent with a gunshot wound.

Police say they will identify the man pending the investigation's progress and notifying family members.
