CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. — The Chattanooga Fire Department says no one was hurt in a house fire Thursday morning.
It happened at a home on Slayton Street, just off of Main Street just after 11 a.m.
Four fire teams responded to find smoke and flames visible from the back of the house.
After hearing that someone might still be inside, CFD Battalion Chief Chris Wilmore called for a second alarm response for more support.
According to the fire department, crews went in the front door, and after searching determined no one was inside.
Crews put out the fire before noon Thursday.
Investigators say it started on the back porch, but it's not clear how it started.
CFD spokesman Bruce Garner says the fire displaced two people living there. American Red Cross volunteers were called in to help them.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
