Chattanooga firefighters say a truck plowed over a fire hydrant and into a tree, prompting response from police, water technicians, and several other agencies Wednesday.

Firefighters responded to a call of a 'spill' on Vance Street this morning.

Captain Teri Vogt-Rose says the truck's collision ruptured a fuel line, hydraulic line, and transmission fluid line.

Captain Robert Thompson with Special Ops was called in to handle the leaking fluids.

Captain Rose says the driver wasn't injured. Chattanooga Police are investigating the cause of the crash.

The following assisted on the scene: Squad 13 and Engine 4, Chattanooga Police, city water quality control Tennessee American Water, Chattanooga Gas, a city arborist, and Doug Yates Towing & Recovery LLC.
