Chattanooga Fire Dept puts out house fire in East Lake

The Chattanooga Fire Department put out a house fire in East Lake Tuesday morning.

Officials reported light smoke coming from the attic at 2125 E. 28th Street. Fire crews made an aggressive attack through the roof.

Seven Chattanooga Fire Companies responded to the call in over 90-degree heat. The fire was quickly extinguished.

The house has water and smoke damage, displacing the family of two.

The American Red Cross is assisting the family with temporary housing.

No injuries were reported. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
