Chattanooga city councilman Ken Smith hopes to extend a moratorium that bans electric scooters in the Scenic City indefinitely.

According to Smith, he expects council members to discuss the proposal next week.

City council passed a 6-month ban in July 2019. That ban has since expired.

The concerns from Chattanooga council members came after a man riding a scooter in Nashville was killed over the summer.
