The Scenic City now has a closer connection with the City of Brotherly Love.

While it may not be "always sunny," travelers out of Chattanooga now have a direct flight to Philadelphia, courtesy of American Airlines and the Chattanooga Airport.

The airport says American Airlines begins nonstop service to Chattanooga from the Philadelphia International Airport, starting with its first arrival Friday night, and its first departure this Saturday.

“Boardings at the Chattanooga airport continue to takeoff with a record number of travelers choosing to fly local, and our airline partners play an important part in that success,” said Terry Hart, president and CEO of the Chattanooga Airport. “When our airlines like American add new routes, they’re helping us increase options for our passengers and ultimately contribute to the economic growth of our region.”

Chattanooga Airport says new American Airlines route includes one daily departure from each city, with passengers flying on a 50-seat regional jet. For business travelers from Chattanooga, the airport says the nonstop flight provides the opportunity to depart in the morning, do business in Philly and return home all in the same day. Nonstop service will be offered daily adhering to the following schedule:

PHL to CHA

  • Daily departure at 6:35 p.m., arriving at 8:49 p.m.

CHA to PHL

  • Daily departure at 6:50 a.m., arriving at 9:03 a.m.

The airport says nonstop service to Philly brings the total number of nonstop routes from the Chattanooga Airport to 10, connecting passengers to countless destinations.

“As part of our continued effort to develop a leading route network connecting more people and places across the globe, American Airlines is proud to launch new flights between Chattanooga and Philadelphia,” said Jim Moses, Vice President of PHL Hub Operations. “The service provides customers nonstop access to American’s trans-Atlantic gateway and largest Northeastern hub, offering customers connectivity to more than 120 destinations across the U.S., Caribbean and Europe.”
