Catoosa County Sheriff's Office creates "Safe Exchange Zone"

The Catoosa County Sheriff's Office (CCSO) now has a new place where you can safely make an "in real life" transaction for a deal you made with someone online.

A post on the CCSO's Facebook page says there is now a Safe Exchange Zone in the front parking lot of the Sheriff’s Office, located at 5842 Highway 41 in Ringgold,

This area is designed to help protect the community while swapping, trading, and/or selling items.

And it's safe. Surveillance cameras will be operating 24 hours a day.

All you need to do is park in the designated parking spot to complete your transaction.

CCSO says, "Even with the 24-hour video recording at the Catoosa County Sheriff’s Office, we still recommend meeting to make exchanges during daylight hours, telling a friend where you’re going and remember if a deal seems too good to be true, it’s likely a scam."

Chattanooga Police set up a similar Safe Exchange Zone last year. Learn more about that here.
