Catoosa County Sheriff Gary Sisk says a man and woman are both dead after what's believed to be a murder-suicide Tuesday afternoon.

Deputies responded to a home on Clara Lee Road, near Cloud Springs Road.

Sheriff Sisk says this afternoon, they received a call of a domestic dispute in the neighborhood.

Sisk says a man and woman were in front of the home, and as his deputies drove up, shots were fired, but not at deputies.

The deputies took cover, and Sheriff Sisk says by that time, both the man and woman were 'down.'

Sisk says the incident is believed to have been a murder-suicide, with the man firing the shots.

Sisk told NewsChannel 9's Bliss Zechman that as the incident was happening in the front yard, two children and at least one other person were inside the home.

The identities of the victims has not been released.

Sheriff Sisk says the Georgia Bureau of Investigation is helping with the investigation.
