Car Fire Under Investigation At Sale Creek Middle/High School

Chattanooga (WTVC) — Sale Creek Volunteer Fire Department (VFD) is investigating a car fire at Sale Creek Middle/High School Tuesday morning.

Sale Creek VFD Chief, Jimbo Aslinger, reported a 2001 Ford Mustang was on fire in the parking lot at about 7:30 a.m.

Firefighters worked quickly to contain the fire and put it out.

A Chevy Truck parked next to the Ford Mustang also received heat and fire damage.

School officials evacuated the school because of heavy smoke surrounding the portable classroom buildings.

No one was hurt.

Firefighters say the car will be a total loss.

The cause of the fire is undetermined and will be under investigation by the Hamilton County Sheriff's Office.
