Brush fire started by burning pizza boxes on National Pizza Day
Lots of people enjoyed National Pizza Day with a slice of pizza pie, but firefighters say you 'knead' to know the proper way to clean up afterwards.
The Dunlap Fire Department received a call about a brush fire near the Dollar General on State Route 28 Friday afternoon.
When the brush fire team arrived, they found about an acre of grass and wildland had been burned up.
The culprit? A person getting rid of pizza boxes by burning them.
People on the scene had already gotten most of the fire put out by the time the fire department got there.
Fire personnel extinguished what remained, soaked the area to prevent any rekindling, and reminded the person what's allowed to be burned outdoors.
No one was injured in the incident.
