UPDATE:

Chattanooga Police have provided more details about an incident where a man was shot outside of a Chattanooga bar Friday morning.

They now say the still-unidentified victim was shot to death.

The CPD release also says a second gunshot victim from this incident showed up at a local hospital in a private vehicle. Right now, we do not know his condition.

Witnesses told police that a fight erupted in gunfire outside the Studio 58 Sports Bar at about 1:30 a.m.

While this isn't the bar's first run-in with violence, the manager says they shouldn't be tied to the fight.

"Whatever they were doing in the parking lot, whenever it broke off, everybody rushed in," says Studio 58 manager Balus Bumpass. "Most of the females that were there, they rushed inside of the club."

He says he was inside doing inventory when shots rang out, but no one else was inside.

"The bar was never open today. I mean, yesterday, it was never opened," says Bumpass.

But this isn't the first time Studio 58 has been in the spotlight.

They face a possible violation by Chattanooga Beer Board for not reporting fights over an April 17th altercation, where CPD says a person says they were assaulted.

However, CPD says they don't have record of the bar reporting it.

The Beer Board hasn't decided if they'll take action.

I'm doing everything right, I called police to help that night," says Jones.

Terrance Jones, the Studio 58 bar owner, told the Beer Board he tried to get help during that April clash.

"I was the one that called police that night because I had a large crowd outside. We didn't have any kind of physical fights, but the police told me they couldn't help me unless there was any kind of fight on the premises, that was the only way they could come out and help me," says Jones.

CPD told us they respond to every call, including those of large crowds, to investigate. And if there isn't a disturbance, they leave.

For now, Jones says they'll remained closed.

Right now, police haven't made any arrests, and investigators continue to work to learn exactly what happened.

The bar will go before the beer board for the April violation next month. We'll let you know if this latest shooting gets added to the list.

EARLIER:

Investigators are trying to figure out what led up to a man's death outside a sports bar in Hamilton County.

Chattanooga Police and Hamilton County Sheriff's Deputies responded to a shooting call at the Studio 58 Sports Bar in the 4800 block of Highway 58 just after 1:30 a.m. Friday.

Police found the body of a man in the parking lot next to a white sedan parked outside the front of the bar.

Officers taped off the parking lot to secure the crime scene from a large crowd that developed right after the incident.

Several people police on scene identified as family members were visibly overcome by emotions.

It's unclear if police made any arrests or identified any other victims in the incident.

NewsChannel 9 has reached out to police administration for clarification.
