Missing Tennessee man's remains found buried in his backyard, relatives charged
Six people have been charged for the death of a man whose remains were dug up from a Tennessee backyard last month.
50-year-old James Leon Wood hadn't been heard from since July 2017, and his mother reported him missing January 18th.
Police found Wood's body on January 24th, buried under a concrete slab in his family's backyard.
Winchester police said in a release the Franklin County grand jury met Friday to obtain indictments.
James Wood's wife, Glenna Yvonne Wood; his stepdaughter, Mikayla Danielle Harmon; Harmon's husband, Grant Matthew Poole; and Shawn Michael Hampton have been charged with first-degree murder, conspiracy to commit murder and abuse of a corpse. Kisha Evelyn Anderson and Joseph Scott Newingham have been charged as accessories.
