Bledsoe County Schools superintendent Jennifer Terry says the Bledsoe County High School's band program will be fully reinstated.

Terry says the school board voted unanimously to bring back the band program in a meeting Monday night.

The school board voted in May to cut the program to save money. Later, the school board voted to allow band for after-school activities like sporting events.

In addition to bringing back the program, Terry says the program will now also be offered in fifth grade.

The school board says they hope allowing students to enter the program sooner will create more interest in music.

Forty students have signed up for the band.
