Starting August 11th, Atlas Organics will offer a doorstep pickup program for compost in Chattanooga.

The company will send trucks to pick up food scraps like cooked meat, bones, dairy, and even paper products for $24 a month from participant's doorstep.

They will also offer a drop-off program where people can bring their own food waste to the location for $14 a month.

Once collected, the waste is taken to the Atlas Organics facility where it is composted into a soil amendment known as finished compost.

Subscribers to the program will receive 10 gallons of the finished compost each month upon request.

Finished compost is known for its nutrient rich properties and its ability to retain water and help rebuild soil structure.
