A $5 million grant from BlueCross BlueShield of Tennessee Health Foundation will provide residents and students in Highland Park a new place to stay healthy.

The Healthy Place Project will be near the campuses of Chattanooga Girls Leadership Academy and Chattanooga Preparatory School.

The project will provide students as well as neighbors a new outdoor space, which includes a pavilion for community gatherings, a walking track, sports courts and inclusive playgrounds.

Students we spoke to say they're beyond excited.

"I think the track, when they were talking about the two side lanes... I am very competitive so seeing that we can race our friends and see the times really makes me happy," said CGLA freshman Avery Love.

There will also a multi-purpose field with bleachers and a concession area.
