UPDATE: Water restored after 12-inch water main break in Jasper
UPDATE (5:40 p.m.):
Dwight Perry with Jasper Water says all residents have had their water restored after a water main break Friday.
Perry says the water main has been repaired.
Crews are working to repair a 12-inch water main break at the Jasper Water Treatment Plant.
Officials from the plant say that the main separated from its sleeve which caused the break.
Many in the Jasper area are without water.
It is unclear when the water will be turned back on, but residents and businesses should expect to be without water for several hours.
Officials say a boil order will most likely be issued later to guarantee that the water is safe to drink. At this time there is no boil advisory in effect.
