UPDATE (Tuesday afternoon):
East Ridge will be the new home of the latest Topgolf location. 500 Camp Jordan Parkway to be exact, according to documentation provided by East Ridge's city manager's office. The new facility will cost nearly $5 million, and will be located directly next to the Bass Pro Shop.
More details are promised to come as we will still work to find out when groundbreaking will begin, and how long the project will take.
UPDATE (October 1st):
Topgolf announced Tuesday morning that it will soon be breaking ground "in Chattanooga."
But the company is not more specific than that, and promised more details to come.
The full email sent to NewsChannel 9 says:
"We are excited to share that Topgolf will soon be breaking ground in Chattanooga. This location is very important to us and we are excited to “tee off” our latest and greatest plans in this community. We are not ready to spill all of the details just yet but will be sure to share our progress along the way. Stay tuned!"
We have written the company for clarification, and will update our story once we hear back.
We also went out to the site for which the permit was filed, in East Ridge, and construction crews confirmed to us that it is "definitely" where Topgolf will set up shop.
Depend on us to keep you posted.
A different kind of golf experience could be making its way to the Tennessee Valley.
According to a permit issued earlier this week, Topgolf could be coming to East Ridge.
The plans show it near the Bass Pro Shop on Camp Jordan Parkway.

Players can tee-off in an entertainment atmosphere. Golfers can eat, drink, and play at the same time.
The company has NOT confirmed that it has concrete plans make a new home in our area, but a spokesperson did tell us, "We are currently exploring potential expansion in Tennessee for another local Topgolf experience."
East Ridge City Manager Chris Dorsey told us on Monday that the shell plans are only part of TopGolf's site selection process.
He says no permits have been filed or issued.
Dorsey says the city is not working with the company, but says if it expresses an interest in East Ridge, the shell plans would help fast-track the process.
Depend on us to update our story as we learn more.
