Hixson High School students were awarded Monday for creating and engaging in a social media campaign.

Students designed a campaign that targeted tobacco and e-cigarette prevention.

They started the project in late October, and today the five finalists were awarded for their projects.

We spoke with Paula Collier, Hamilton County's Tobacco Prevention Coordinator. She explains why this competition is so important.

"We'll be able to use these to educate youth, parents, and teachers about the harms of e-cigs and Juul use," said Collier.

Today's winners will present at the 4th annual Clear the Air Conference in May 2019.
