Honor A Vet Day at American Legion Post 62 in South Pittsburg.

On the Price of Freedom on this day before Independence Day we traveled to South Pittsburg where two local veterans were honored today.

It was "Honor A Vet Day" at American Legion Post 62 this morning.

They honored Navy Veteran Clifford Layne who served as a judge in Marion County for 47 years as well.

They also honored Jim Gentry. He served in the National Guard in the 1950's and 60's.

Mr Gentry is the former owner of Gentry Chevrolet a long time member of the American Legion.

He served his community, state, and country for a long time.

"It's quite an honor to be recognized by your friends and neighbors here in the community," Jim Gentry said.

"I'm just thankful to be here," Mr. Layne said. "It's an honor to serve, and I want to thank all of the people here today for showing up. I just appreciate their attention."

American Legion Post 62 has more than 90 members right now and they hold these "Honor A Vet" Days at least once a year.
