CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. — Last summer in Making History we told you about Fit4Mom Chattanooga.
The company is a group of mothers working to help new moms, and it's all designed to be fun for the babies too.
There are franchises across the country. Rachel McClellan started the Chattanooga franchise about 2 years ago.
"We are a fitness company but I like to say we are a community company with a fitness expertise. Obviously all of our instructors are trained in safe pre and post natal fitness so moms can get a workout, but we try to focus a lot on giving mom what she needs that day," Rachel said.
Michelle Perelman and her son Judah started coming to these classes about six months ago.
"I love getting outdoors and I love being able to have my baby with me." Michelle said. "Really, the interaction with the moms is the best part."
Michelle and many other Chattanooga moms have found a home with this growing community.
"We now are in over five locations, and we run six programs," Rachel said. "We went from kind of one to two programs to six programs. So, not all our programs are just for moms with tiny babies. We have programs for moms with high schoolers, and pregnant moms and moms who really like to run. We launched a running program. Our membership has grown from somewhere around eighty to somewhere from one hundred fifty moms in Chattanooga."
All of Fit4Mom Chattanooga's programs are designed for different stages of mother hood from their Fit4baby program or body back, strides360, run club, and mamawell programs.
"We're really trying to set it up where we can meet moms at every stage of mother hood and be here for her in a community sense and fitness sense as well," Rachel said.
As Rachel is growing this business her family is growing too. She and her husband welcomed their third child this year. She says she is going through many of the same things that her clients are going through.
