Warmer through midweek, then turning cooler & wetter
A warmer than average January will end that way with 60s returning for Tuesday Afternoon. But, cooler and gradually wetter conditions late week and into the weekend.

WARMING UP TUESDAY
Sunshine for most of the day Tuesday as some clouds could move in later in the afternoon. Morning temperatures quite seasonal in the 30s, but warming up quickly to the lower 60s by the afternoon. The warming trend occurring thanks to the sunshine and increasing breeze from the southwest at 10-15 mph. The average high for the last day of January is in the lower 50s.
A weak front stalls across the Tennessee Valley Wednesday. Still warmer than average for the first day of February as afternoon temperatures should reach the lower 60s. Some light rain could move in late afternoon and into Wednesday Night, but any rainfall amounts look very light and less than 0.10".
DRIER & COOLER FOR GROUNDHOG DAY
Chattanooga Chuck has the honor of proclaiming the fate of Winter/Spring. Thursday should be a seasonal or normal day for Groundhog Day with a high temperature in the lower 50s under a partly sunny sky. This starts a cooling trend that should continue through Friday and the weekend,
LIGHT RAIN FRIDAY
The Super Bowl is Sunday in Houston (GO FALCONS!!!!!). But, here in Chattanooga, the "Big Game" comes a couple of days earlier as the US Men's National Soccer Team plays Jamaica at Finley Stadium Friday Evening.
Most of the day Friday looks cloudy and quite cool with high temperatures only in the mid/upper 40s. Periods of light rain at times, but the light rain should end by sunset. So, it is possible that by game time Friday Evening, it could be just cloudy and chilly with temperatures in the lower 40s. Rainfall amounts during the day Friday also look light with amounts around 0.25".
RAIN RETURNS SUNDAY
The first half of the weekend looks cloudy to partly cloudy with afternoon highs in Saturday in the upper 40s to near 50. By Sunday, a more widespread chance for rain could move in. Longer range forecast models vary quite a bit with rainfall amounts ranging from 0.50" to 1.40". So, we'll be keeping an eye on those rainfall amount trends in the days ahead. Temperatures should remain quite cool with highs only in the 40s.
