Typical July heat, humidity & t-showers
A typical July weather pattern continues for the Tennessee Valley through the end of the work week and right through the weekend. This means a daily dose of heat, humidity & scattered t-showers.
(MAPS ABOVE: #1. CURRENT WEATHER PATTERN.........#2. MAINLY AFTERNOON & EVENING T-SHOWERS THURSDAY........#3. A BETTER CHANCE FOR AFTERNOON AND NIGHT TIME T-SHOWERS FRIDAY)
JULY HEAT AND HUMIDITY
The average high temperature for this time of year is 90. And, that is where most afternoon temperatures should hover through the start of the week. But, of course, when you factor in the 50%+ humidity levels during the afternoon, the Heat Index will feel more like the upper 90s.
The only heat relief should come in the form of afternoon and evening t-showers. Mainly the pop up variety in the heating of the day Thursday. So, not all areas will experience a t-shower. But, in the areas that do, please be aware that heavy downpours could occur and lightning. So, for all of your outdoor activities, remember "when the thunder roars, go indoors"!
The chance or coverage of afternoon and evening t-storms could increase for Friday and Friday Night as a cool front approaches from the northwest. Now, there is still a question of just how far south this front will move. But, the added forcing from the front and daytime heating could allow for a more widespread chance for storms during the afternoon and early evening. The front being in our vicinity to the north could allow for some storms to persist off and on through Friday Night and into early Saturday as well.
Should the front stall, this could keep an off and on chance for storms through the day Saturday and hold high temperatures in the upper 80s. The chance for mainly afternoon and evening t-showers should continue through Monday.
EVEN HOTTER NEXT WEEK
The chance for afternoon showers and storms could be lower into next week. But, the daily high temperatures could be higher. Afternoon temperatures locally could average in the mid 90s and even the possibility of upper 90s through the week. Some of the hottest temperatures of the season so far.
