RAIN & STORMS TUESDAY
Cloudy and warmer Tuesday as temperatures should rise into the mid/upper 60s. A southerly breeze at 5-15 mph. The coverage of showers and storms should increase from the west late morning and into the afternoon. The Storm Prediction Center has placed parts of our viewing area in the "Slight Risk" category for the chance of severe storms. The primary threats being damaging wind gusts and hail. The tornado threat is very low, but not zero. So, we will have to keep an eye on the storm development from the southwest.
The coverage of showers and storms should decrease locally during the evening and a bit quieter overnight.
SOME RUMBLES AGAIN WEDNESDAY
The risk of severe storms drops to the "Marginal" or lower risk category for Wednesday. Temperatures should again be very warm with highs in the upper 60s. Another upper level disturbance moves in for Wednesday which should bring a return chance for showers. Some thunderstorms are possible, and we'll keep an eye on that. The risk appears to be lower than that of Tuesday. Showers should be lighter Wednesday Night through early Thursday.
Overall rainfall amounts for Tuesday and Wednesday could be in the 0.50" to 1.00" range. Just a few spots heavier due to some thunderstorms.
MUCH COOLER THURSDAY
Drier and much cooler Thursday. There could even be a few flurries at higher elevations (especially north and east). Expect more clouds than sun, but also breezy with temperatures hovering in the 40s throughout the day. A clearing sky and colder Thursday Night with temperatures dipping into the 20s.
A PEEK AT THE WEEKEND
Friday looks partly sunny and seasonal with an afternoon high back in the 50s after a chilly morning in the 20s. Clouds and warmer Saturday with high temperatures in the lower 60s. Some light rain could move in from the southwest late in the day and through Saturday Evening. That chance for rain could continue into Sunday, otherwise cloudy with a high in the upper 60s.
As always, you can depend on the StormTrack 9 Team for updates!
