NOT QUITE AS WINDY TUESDAY
A cool start to Tuesday with local temperatures ranging from the upper 40s to lower 50s. Sunny throughout the day with high temperatures in the mid/upper 70s. As for wind speeds, it should not be as gusty as Monday, but expect a breeze from the west-southwest at 10-15mph, especially through the afternoon.
AROUND 80 WEDNESDAY!
Wednesday morning begins in the low/mid 50s under a clear sky. Expect a mix of clouds and sun Wednesday with afternoon highs near 80. Clouds should move back in Wednesday Night and a chance for showers late in the night and into Thursday.
WETTER & COOLER LATE WEEK
A better chance for rain and some thunderstorms is expected for Thursday. Right now, the risk of severe storms looks very low, but we'll keep an eye on that. We could get another round of soaking rainfall with amounts up to and over an inch possible. Temperatures should also be a little cooler with highs in the 60s Thursday. For Friday, some residual light rain is possible and much cooler. Temperatures for most could stay in the 50s throughout the day and some of our mountain tops could stay in the 40s. Temperatures could be in the 40s Friday night through Saturday morning.
It might be cold enough for some snow showers at the higher peaks of the Smokies Friday Night through Saturday Morning (Newfound Gap, Mt LeConte, Clingmans Dome) .
As always, you can depend on the StormTrack 9 Team for updates!
