Weather update: Severe storms possible Wednesday
At this point, specific timing is not set in stone, but Wednesday could be a busy day.
A cold front will sweep through the area sometime Wednesday afternoon interacting with very warm air as our temps soar into the 70s. Right now, early projections point to a line of storms (squall line) rapidly developing and pushing to the east. Along that line, damaging winds could be seen. The Storm Prediction Center has put most of our area in an "Enhanced Risk", the highest we have seen in months. While we are still a couple days away, this serves as a good heads up for those with plans or just heading to church on Wednesday night.
What to expect:
-Warm, breezy day. Highs in the low 70s
-Line of storms sometime in the afternoon
-Damaging wind threat HIGH
-Small hail possible
What we don't know:
-The exact timing of the line
-How severe as there are some forecast model differences and clouds to deal with
-What each specific town will see.
We will watch closely over the next two days. At this point, just be aware.
