HUMID WITH SCATTERED STORMS

The key word there being "scattered". A cold front should draw closer to our part of the Tennessee Valley late Friday. This could provide our viewing area with a scattering of showers and storms during the afternoon and evening hours. The overall severe risk remains low in the "Marginal" category, so a few isolated storms could produce some strong wind gusts and hail. Heavy downpours and frequent lightning also possible. This should be on a scattered basis, so not raining equally across the viewing area. Some spots could be completely avoided and remain partly cloudy. Afternoon highs should reach the low/mid 80s Friday Afternoon. Most of the shower and storm activity should end through mid-evening Friday.

That cold front should stay just to our west Friday Night. By Saturday, another area of low pressure along the front should push the front across our viewing area Saturday afternoon and night. So, another chance of scattered storms is again possible. Like Friday, the categorical risk of severe storms is low in the "Marginal" category for Saturday. The best timing again appears to be for the afternoon and through the night.

MUCH COOLER SUNDAY

Showers could linger behind the cold front through Sunday morning then taper off. Much cooler air moves in as well. So, after having high temperatures near 80 on Saturday, the high temperatures on Sunday should stay in the 60s. This should also lead to a cool night Sunday night with temperatures by Monday morning in the mid to upper 40s.

DRY NEXT WEEK

After having above average rainfall this week, much of next week looks dry. A cloud, sun mix Monday with highs in the mid 70s. Then, sunny through midweek with afternoon highs returning to the upper 70s to lower 80s. Cool mornings in the 50s through midweek as well.

As always, you can depend on the StormTrack 9 Team for updates!
