Rain on the way along with a Winter-like chill

Midnight Saturday.png

As discussed all week, a cold front is on the way and behind it the coldest air of the season so far. But first, some soaking showers Friday Night and into Saturday

BRIEFLY WARMER FRIDAY

Not quite as cold Friday Morning with temperatures mostly in the mid/upper 40s. Throughout the day, cloud cover should gradually increase. A southerly flow ahead of a cold front should boost afternoon temperatures into the upper 60s to lower 70s. But, enjoy the warmth. By Saturday, it will feel like we skipped ahead to Winter!

RAIN MOVES IN LATE FRIDAY AND FRIDAY NIGHT

The approaching front could usher in some showers south and west as early as late afternoon. Mainly scattered, but gradually increasing in coverage mid to late evening. Some area football games south and west could be affected by the showers. The heaviest rain and embedded storms ahead of the front should arrive around midnight and continue through sunrise. The risk of any severe storms looks low at this time, but some occasional lightning/thunder is possible. Heavy downpours at times as well through Saturday Morning.

WET & CHILLY SATURDAY

Falling raindrops and temperatures for Saturday Morning. We should have our "high" temperature prior to sunrise in the 50s. Then, falling and remaining in the 40s for most of the day. The best coverage of rain for the first half of the day, then ending from west to east through the course of the afternoon as the front moves through.

Rainfall amounts from Friday Night through Saturday could average between 0.50" to 1.00". Drier air quickly moves in through Saturday Night.

Temperatures through Saturday Night should drop into the mid/upper 30s.

DRY, BUT CHILLY SUNDAY

Sunday should again feel more like January than late October. A drier day under a partly sunny sky. But, still breezy at times with morning temperatures in the 30s, then only upper 40s to lower 50s Sunday Afternoon.

Temperatures Sunday Night and into Monday should drop into the low/mid 30s. This means that some areas locally could experience the first Freeze of the season!

HALLOWEEN OUTLOOK

After a Winter-like weekend, the weather calms down just in time for Halloween Tuesday! A sunny to partly sunny sky with low/mid 60s during the afternoon. Trick or Treating temperatures in the 50s during the evening!

As always, you can depend on the StormTrack 9 Team for updates!
