Much cooler temperatures return to the Tennessee Valley
The severe storms raced through our viewing area Wednesday Afternoon. Now, much cooler air is moving in and you will need the jackets and sweaters the next few days!
(IMAGE GALLERY ABOVE: #1. MUCH COOLER THURSDAY MORNING WITH UPPER 30S TO NEAR 40.........#2. A SUNNY, BUT COOL AFTERNOON THURSDAY.......#3. SUNNY, BUT EVEN COOLER FRIDAY WITH HIGHS IN THE UPPER 40S TO LOWER 50S)
BREEZY & COOLER THROUGH THURSDAY
After a warm, humid & stormy day Wednesday, get ready for a much cooler air mass to move back in. Windy at times during the night as temperatures drop to between the upper 30s to lower 40s by Thursday Morning. The wind should really pick up from the west-northwest at 10-20mph and gusty during the night. Even higher gusts at higher elevations.
Still breezy through the day Thursday with a brisk NNW wind at 10-20mph. A lot of sunshine, but much cooler with afternoon highs mainly in the mid/upper 50s.
A reinforcing shot of cold, dry air moves in from the north Thursday Night and into Friday. This should drop morning temperatures to the 30s by Friday Morning. Sunny again Friday, but even cooler with afternoon highs only in the upper 40s (local mountains) to lower 50s valley.
WEEKEND MORNING FREEZES POSSIBLE
A lot of plants are blooming and could be at risk with a couple of mornings around the freezing mark. By Saturday Morning, temperatures should drop to between the upper 20s to lower 30s. So, most areas locally below freezing. Plenty of sun Saturday with highs in the upper 50s. Sunday Morning could again be near freezing with temperatures dipping to around 32. A little warmer Sunday Afternoon with lower 60s under a partly sunny sky.
As always you can depend on the StormTrack 9 Team for updates!
