Humidity increasing & so could rain chances later in the week
The comfortable temperatures and humidity levels should be short lived as typical Summer levels return. Also, a gradual increase in rain chances as well.
(MAPS ABOVE: #1. UPPER 80S TO NEAR 90 TUESDAY AFTERNOON.........#2. SOME AFTERNOON T-SHOWERS WEDNESDAY........#3. BETTER RAIN CHANCES FRIDAY WITH A COOL FRONT)
Typical Summer heat and humidity returns to the Tennessee Valley in the days ahead. It should still be comfortable Tuesday Morning with 60s for most, but a few spots in the upper 50s. A sunny to partly sunny sky should allow temperatures to reach the upper 80s on average, but near 90 in Chattanooga. A few pop up showers are possible, but few in number and mainly over the eastern mountains. A southerly flow returns later Tuesday and into Wednesday. Therefore, a muggier start to the day Wednesday and not as cool with lows around 70.s More clouds mixing with the sun on Wednesday and muggy through the afternoon with highs in the upper 80s. A few pop up t-showers could again occur, but more in number than the isolated few on Tuesday.
A cool front slowly approaches the Tennessee Valley through late Thursday and into Friday. This could bring a better chance for mainly afternoon & evening t-showers on Thursday. Then, a possible more widespread chance Friday and Friday Night. The speed of the approaching front will determine if the showers will linger for Saturday. For now, I am keeping the chance for some morning showers and storms could occur Saturday, and could linger into the afternoon over the southern half of the viewing area. I'll continue to keep you updated on this in the days ahead. By Sunday, we should be dry and partly sunny.
Longer range models continue to indicate that next week could be a wet one. A slow moving system could create a good chance for widespread showers and storms locally for Monday through Wednesday.
As always, you can depend on the StormTrack 9 Team for updates!
